Black History Month

Celebrate Black History Month at Point of Grace

This February, Point of Grace invites you to join us as we honor Black History Month in a powerful and meaningful way. Each Sunday at 10:30 AM, we will come together to celebrate the rich heritage, resilience, and faith of the Black community through worship, music, education, and reflection.

What’s Happening Each Sunday in February

Every service will feature a blend of engaging and impactful elements designed to inspire, uplift, and celebrate:

  • Traditional Gospel Songs & Negro Spirituals:

    • Be moved by the timeless beauty of traditional gospel music and Negro spirituals. These songs, deeply rooted in Black history, reflect themes of hope, faith, and perseverance that have carried generations through trials and triumphs.

  • Sermons Rooted in History & Scripture:

    • Our pastor will deliver powerful messages that connect biblical themes of liberation, justice, and hope with the historical and modern experiences of the Black community. These sermons will inspire us to reflect on God’s work in history and His call for unity and justice today.

Special Features of Our Celebration

Each week, in addition to worship and the Word, you’ll experience unique presentations and highlights, including:

Historical Reflections:

  • Gain insights into key moments, figures, and contributions in Black history through reflections woven into our services.

HBCU Spotlights:

  • Celebrate Historically Black Colleges and Universities as we spotlight their significant role in education, culture, and history.

Honoring Our Congregants:

  • Recognize and celebrate the achievements and contributions of our own church family members.

Youth Presentations:

  • Be inspired by our youth as they share creative presentations highlighting the legacy and lessons of Black history through song, poetry, and more.

Why Celebrate Black History Month?

Black History Month is a time to reflect on the resilience, creativity, and faith of the Black community throughout history. It’s a time to honor the struggles and sacrifices of those who came before us while celebrating the achievements and progress they made possible. At Point of Grace, we believe in uplifting these stories and recognizing the light of God in them, reminding us of His presence and faithfulness throughout every generation.
